    Sign Language Detection for Deaf People Using FSR Sensors

    Abstract Communication between speakers and deaf of American Sign Language (ASL) can be problematic, inconvenient, and expensive. This project attempts to bridge the communication gap by designing a portable glove that captures the user’s gestures and outputs translated into text on LCD. The glove is equipped with FSR sensors to measure the flexion of the fingers. The glove’s Arduino UNO microcontroller analyzes the sensor readings to identify the gesture from a library of learned gestures. Using these device speaker and LCD may be able to communicate with others in an affordable and convenient way. In this thesis Common gestures in our cultural have been collected to use as communication language between normal and deaf people instead of using (ASL) to be more understandable as quickly as possible. المستخلص لغة التخاطب بين الناطقين والغير الناطقين (المتحدثين بلغة الإشارة) صعب ,غير مريح وتتطلب وقت ومجهود للفهم والإدراك . هذا البحث قلل المسافة بين الناطقين والغير الناطقين(المتحدثين بلغة الإشارة) عن طريق إرتداء قفاز مثبت عليه حساسات القوة (FSR) تقيس مقدار إنحناء كل أصبع ومن ثم يتم تحويلها الي كلمة علي شاشة عرض رقمية. تم أستخدام المتحكم (الأردوينو) لتحديد الكلمة المراد التعبير عنها بحركة معينة من خلال مجموعة من الكلمات المدرجة في مكتبة البرنامج . في هذا البحث تم إستخدام الإيماءات الشائعة في مجتمعنا للتعبير عن كلمات معينة لتكون لغة التخاطب سهلة وسريعة.
