    The Role of Media , particularly TV Films in Enhancing EFLStudent’s Oral Communication Prosodic Features .

    Abstract Second language development could be achieved through various teaching and learning processes; however, applying multimedia technology has facilitated this process. This study aims at examining The Role of Media, particularly TV films in enhancing EFL Students’ Oral Communication prosodic features. The objective of this study is to look if using TV films in teaching and learning of English language can play a role in improving learning of student and performance using prosody. The researcher used the descriptive analytical method. Two types of data collection were used: a questionnaire and classroom test. The data have been computed and statistically analyzed (by using the Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) Program) The prosodic features involved were the fundamental frequency contour, the segmental durations, and the intensity contour. The result showed that the fundamental frequency contour and the segmental durations has main effects on prosody of English language . مستخلص الدراسة يمكن تطوير دراسة اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة ثانية عبر وسائل تدريسية وتعليمية متعددة ، ولكن استخدام تقنية الوسائط المتعددة قد يسرت هذه الطرق والوسائل . يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة دور الإعلام خاصة الخصائص العروضية في الأفلام والبرامج التلفزيونية وأثرها في تعزيز وتقوية مهارات الاتصال والتخاطب الشفهي لدى دارسي اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو التحقق ما إذا كان استخدام الأفلام التلفزيونية في تدريس وتعليم اللغة الإنجليزية يمكن أن يلعب دورا بارزا في تحسين وترقية تعلم أداء الدارسين مستخدمين علم العروض . انتهجت في هذه الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي ، كما تم استخدام وسيلتين من وسائل جمع البيانات وهما : الاستبيان واختبار الطلاب داخل قاعة الدراسة علاوة على ذلك فإنني قد قمت بحوسبة وتحليل هذه البيانات إحصائيا عن طريق نظام الربط الإحصائي للعلوم الاجتماعية الخصائص العروضية المستخدمة في هذا البحث هي : أ- خاصية التواتر الجوهري . ب - خاصة الآماد القطعية. ج- خاصة التكثيف . وقد أوضحت النتائج أن خاصيتا التواتر الجوهري والآماد القطعية لهما الأثر الرئيس في علم العروض في اللغة الإنجليزية .
